Delivery of Storage Containers

We own our own 8 ton rigged crane truck for local deliveries of 6 metre containers and have also developed strong ties with transport and rigging companies to ensure the safe and timeous delivery of your containers.  For storage containers and rental containers that are readily available Container Rental and Sales can usually arrange delivery within 24 hours. Containers that require conversion will require more time and timelines can be discussed with your Container Rental and Sales representative prior to placing your order.

There are several issues that will need consideration prior to the delivery of your container:

Direction of the Container Doors

You will need to advise which direction the container should be loaded onto the truck. This could affect the direction that the container will face once unloaded from the truck.

Surface of the Site

In order to ensure the correct operation of your container (including the efficient opening and closing of doors) it is best to ensure that your container sits on a level surface. Containers are best placed on concrete blocks. Your Container Rental and Sales representative can assist you in determining the best solution for your needs.

Safety First

To ensure a safe and efficient delivery, it is important to advise us of any obstructions that may impede the process, including overhead wires and overhanging branches.

Choosing the Container Delivery Method

When organising the delivery of your container with Container Rental and Sales, we will need to discuss which truck type is most appropriate for your site. Factors affecting the type of truck include where you require delivery, the accessibility of the site, and the type of container you have ordered.

Crane Truck Delivery

We generally deliver with a crane truck as this is the most versatile form of delivery. This method of delivery allows for containers to be delivered over obstructions such as fences.

Side Loader Truck Delivery

The side loader truck delivers the container by picking it up from the truck's tray at each end of the unit and lowering it onto the site directly next to the truck's tray. This method is ideal for delivery of containers that need to fit into constricted spaces. It is important to consider which way the container should be loaded onto the truck as it can only be unloaded from the right hand (driver's) side.

6m Side Loader Clearance Requirements:

Height – 4.5m (15')

Width – 6m (20')

Length – 10m (33')

12m Side Loader Clearance Requirements:

Height – 4.5m (15')

Width – 6m (20')

Length – 16m (53')

Tilt Tray Truck Delivery

The tilt tray truck is ideal for delivery where there is very limited space. The container is loaded onto the truck in the direction requested ensuring the unit will be in the correct position upon delivery. The truck must reverse to the delivery point where the tray of the truck tilts to the ground and the container slides off the back.

6m Tilt Tray Clearance Requirements:

Height – 4.8m (16')

Width – 3m (10')

Length – 18m (59')
